And so we meet again! Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope that this post finds you all enjoying your week and getting excited that summer is getting closer and closer with each day! I know I am! As I have been promising, this week I am excited to share with you a song that I love. It’s been around for a little while now, but if you haven’t heard of it- it is AWESOME! It’s called Anything Could Happen by Ellie Goulding. And it is without a doubt a must listen!
I want to first start by saying that I LOVE Ellie. Her songs are all so different and her lyrics remind me a lot of something that Florence Welch would write- very subtle meanings, and words that are put together that seem to take forever to decipher. But I think Ellie has an absolutely beautiful voice and she is able to hit notes that many aren’t capable of. In Anything Could Happen, she starts of in true Ellie fashion: high notes and more high notes. She really makes you work if you’re trying to sing along like I usually do! But she starts off by singing about a possible childhood memory that she is looking back on. I still couldn’t tell you exactly what she means in either one of her verses in this song, to be honest, but if you ask me, it seems as though she is remembering a time in the past that meant a lot to her. What I really like best about this song, and the main reason why I want to share it with you all, is for the chorus. The main part of the song is nothing more than “Since we found out. since we found out, that anything could happen, anything could happen, anything could happen, anything could happen…” I think that this is SO COOL, and such a good reminder that in our lives, not one person on this earth can tell us what can and cannot happen. Ellie reminds her listeners that ANYTHING can happen and that ANYTHING is possible in this world. Nothing is out of our grasp. Whether she is talking about a time in her childhood where she didn’t believe something was possible, or if someone she was friends with showed her that anything in life is possible, she sends us a really great message. This song not only has a seemingly positive message, but it also is a really fun one to sing along to and to get you in a happy mood.
I looked around to see what Ellie had to say about the song and what I was able to find, though not much, is that she hopes this song promotes positivity- and to me, that is exactly what it does.
Anyways, I hope you love this song as much as I do. I think Ellie is great, and this is just one of many of her songs that I am a big fan of. I highly encourage you to check out some of her stuff. But as always, I hope the rest of the week is great for you all. My challenge to you this week is to do one random act of kindness for someone. It doesn’t have to be anything big, maybe just something as simple as picking up trash that may be in the hallways at school or holding the door open for a group of people- anything! I promise, helping others, even when they don’t notice, is one of the greatest feelings you can get. It just makes you feel so much better and I guarantee that your kindness will spread to others. So PUT A SMILE ON YOUR FACE this week and just enjoy it! I’ll see you all again next week, but until then, keep doing awesome things.
